Native of Atlanta , GA. Attended Stephens College, Columbia, MO and a Mississippi State Alumna.
Patricia is an award winning artist that has focused much of her artistic career on the classical approach to oils used by the masters, and continues to be fascinated by the human form, often reproducing Masters in the Italian Verdaccio method.
She has been juried into and won awards in Local, National and International Shows. In 2007 she was accepted into the Colored Pencil Society's 15th Annual International Exhibition in Bethesda, MD. She has had her work published in CPSA To the Point- Magazine of the Colored Pencil Society of America. Drawn to Colored Pencils- the January 2005 Cary News, selected work on Marvin Mattelson's website-www.fineartportrait.com as well as featured in the Cary Magazine. Patricia is also a featured artist in two publications "Painting North Carolina Impressions en Plein Air" and the most recent book " Painting North Carolina A Visual Journey". Patricia's work is in the Permanent Collections of First South Bank, Capital Bank, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Children's Diabetes and Endocrinology Center at the WakeMed Hospital, as well as NC State University. She has numerous works in Private Collections in NC, MD, TN, MS, SC, and as far away as Israel. In 2009 she was awarded the Best of North Carolina Agricultural Scene at the NC State Fair and awarded the State Commissioner's Choice Award at the 2008 Fair.
She specializes in Landscapes, Portraits, Still Lifes and Classical Reproductions.
Patricia held the position of Secretary for the Cary Gallery of Artists, for three years, where she is a Chartered and Founding Member. She currently teaches Oil painting at the Cary Arts Center in Cary, NC.
Memberships include: Portrait Society of America, Pastel Society of North Carolina, Colored Pencil Society of America, Colored Pencil Chapter DC114, Fine Arts League of Cary, Visual Art Exchange, Water Color Society of NC, Triangle Artists Guild, Sertoma Portrait Group, and the Jordan Hall Portrait Group.
